PRESS RELEASE: Goldbergs announce the sale of an important collection of United States Gold Coins from a prominent Midwestern family

The Goldbergs proudly announce the sale of an important collection of United States Gold Coins from a prominent Midwestern family.

A cabinet consisting of just under 100 coins, represents the last of an impressive collection formed more than 50 years ago. While portions were sold in the mid 1960s, the balance remained in the family’s possession. These remaining coins were recently submitted to PCGS for grading and encapsulation.

The collection includes a complete run of $5.00 and $10.00 Indians, many in absolute Mint State condition. In particular, the $5.00 1909-O and 1929 along with the $10.00 1907 Rolled Edge and Wire Edge, the 1930-S and 1933 appear virtually untouched.

This outstanding cabinet of gold also includes some amazing early $20.00’s such as an 1850 and 1851-O, along with several superb gem proof gold coins — notably a 1866 No Motto $5.00 and matching $10.00. A 1879 Flowing Hair Stella, perhaps worn by a madam, and a Pan-Pacific set in the original box of issue, round out this extraordinary selection of U.S. Gold Coins.

All this and more will be offered in Goldberg’s June 5-8, 2016 Pre Long Beach Sale.
