New Lincoln Cent Pricing Online at Greysheet Website

By Joshua McMorrow-Hernandez, Editor

More Lincoln cent prices are now available for free online – yet another expansion of new pricing data that CDN Publishing continues unrolling in Monthly Greysheet and on the Greysheet.com website. The latest pricing additions cover all Lincoln Memorial cents and include MS65RD-MS67RD pricing for business strikes struck from 1959 through 2008 and PR65DCAM-PR69DCAM for proofs made from 1968 through 2008.

Lincoln Memorial cents are among the most popular of the minor-denomination series, and virtually all of the Lincoln Memorial business-strike issues are still readily available in circulation. However, MSRD examples and doubled dies (most of the latter are already listed in Monthly Greysheet) are actively traded and often assembled in registry sets. Perhaps surprising to all but who are most familiar with this one-cent series, many of the regular-issue business strikes are extremely scarce in grades above MS66RD and often trade for three- and four-figure prices. It seems that the most valuable of these higher-end pieces were struck in the 1960s and 1970s, though a few issues from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s also command strong prices in the better grades, reflecting scarce supply and strong demand.

As we at CDN Publishing continue monitoring this series and see trends develop in Lincoln Memorial cent trading, we may add even more pricing information in the months and years ahead. Of course, information from coin dealers, notably bid and buy prices, is extremely important to us in compiling our market reports. So, if there are any pricing edits or suggestions you wish to make, are a dealer and want to provide us with your bid and buy prices, or are a collector and have insight or suggestions on what you’d like to see us cover, please drop us a line at editor@greysheet.com. We’d love to hear from you!
