NGC, NCS, PMG Named Official Grading and Conservation Services of the Macau Numismatic Society

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) have been named the Official Grading Services of the Macau Numismatic Society (MNS). Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS), an affiliate of NGC and PMG, has been named the Official Conservation Service of the MNS.

The MNS was established in 1988 to serve the coin and paper money collecting communities in Macau, a Special Administrative Region of China, and the surrounding areas. The MNS conducts an annual convention, hosts educational forums and regularly publishes new research on coin and paper money.

NGC was founded in 1987 to provide expert and unbiased certification services for coins, tokens and medals. In 2005, PMG was formed to provide similar certification services for paper money. NGC and PMG, along with NCS-a professional coin conservation service-are independent members within the Certified Collectibles Group (CCG).

NGC, NCS and PMG have been active in China for more than a decade, during which time they have steadily expanded and enhanced their services in the country while building upon their reputation for accuracy, consistency and integrity. NGC has now certified more than 2.5 million Chinese coins, while PMG has certified more than 1.5 million Chinese notes.

Headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, USA, the companies have branch offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai as well as in Munich and, later this year, London. In Hong Kong, the companies accept direct submissions from collector members and Authorized Dealers through their affiliate, NGC Hong Kong, Ltd. In Shanghai, the companies accept submissions through their affiliate, NGC Shanghai Business Information Consulting Co., Ltd., and its network of six Official Submission Centers, four Strategic Partners and select Authorized Dealers.

MNS members are now eligible to receive a voucher for a free NGC Associate membership (a $25 USD value), which grants privileges to submit coins and paper money to the companies’ Hong Kong and US offices. Vouchers will be distributed by the MNS in the next few weeks.

“We are proud to have selected NGC and PMG as our Official Grading Services and NCS as our Official Conservation Service,” said David Chio, President of the MNS. “They have demonstrated considerable expertise in the numismatics of Macau and Greater China as well as a firm commitment to this region.”

“For decades, the Macau Numismatic Society has been a beacon of knowledge for coin and paper money collectors in Asia,” said Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG. “We are honored that such a prestigious organization has named NGC, NCS and PMG their Official Grading and Conservation Services.”

NGC, NCS and PMG are also the Official Grading and Conservation Services of the American Numismatic Association (ANA), a coin collecting organization chartered by the US Congress, and the Professional Numismatists Guild, a respected dealer organization in the US. In addition, the National Silver Dollar Roundtable (NSDR), an organization of US silver dollar collectors, recently named NGC its Official Grading Service.
