Santacruz Silver Mining (TSX.V:SCZ) (the Company or Santacruz) has been focused on drifting to access the Membrillo vein that generally strikes NW-SE and dips approximately 45 to 60 degrees to the southwest.

This underground development has intersected a previously unknown E-W striking vein structure that dips approximately 50 to 52 degrees to the Southwest and is infilled by quartz, carbonate and sulfide minerals. This previously unknown vein is now known as the San Rafael vein.

President and CEO Arturo Prestamo said:

This is a very exciting development for Santacruz.

Not only does the San Rafael vein potentially provide a new source of feed for our Rosario mill facility, at some of the highest grades that the Company has ever assayed in the area, but there are three other areas on the Rosario property where similar E-W post mineralized structures have been identified, but have never been systematically evaluated.

The NW-SE veins have been the predominant focus of most historic exploration but with the discovery of the San Rafael vein, Santacruz will broaden its exploration focus to evaluate the E-W structures on both the Rosario and Membrillo veins.
